Juan Vargas Marquez, 40, of Waterford was arrested early Sunday after he was pulled over in Ceres and found to be intoxicated.
At 2:20 a.m., Ceres Police Sergeant Aaron Pinon was patrolling the area of Hatch and Moffett roads when he saw a Chevrolet Silverado headed eastbound on Hatch Road but riding in a westbound lane.
Sergeant Pinon caught up to the pickup to initiate a vehicle stop in the area of River Creek Drive and Moffett Road. Officer Eric Garcia arrived on scene and contacted Marquez, and immediately suspected that he was under the influence of alcohol. After a DUI investigation in which Marquez participated in a series of field sobriety tests in a manner consistent with someone under the influence of alcohol, he was arrested.
Marquez’s breath sample showed that he was three times the legal limit of alcohol to drive. Marquez was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center.
