A 27-year-old arson suspect will have to answer in court on charges that she set fire to an RV in Ceres Thursday morning.

The fire was reported at 10:38 a.m. near the intersection of Havenwood Way and Sungate Drive. Ceres firefighters rushed to the scene to put out the fire and alerted police to a suspect who may have started the fire.

Witnesses stated that they saw Jimila Bodden enter the RV after pouring lighter fluid into a diaper. She was then seen leaving the RV with a smirk on her face just before they noticed smoke and flames coming from the vehicle.

Bodden provided a statement to police which was inconsistent with what witnesses provided. When confronted with the inconsistences, she admitted to accidently spilling some lighter fluid on a table in the RV, then purposely igniting the lighter fluid.

Bodden was booked for arson.
