High schools to host registration for new year

With Ceres schools starting on Tuesday, August 9, both Ceres and Central Valley high schools are scheduled registration events.

Ceres High School will host its orientation on Tuesday, July 26. Orientation for seniors will be held from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Juniors with last names ending in A through L are to be present from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. while those ending in M through Z report at 11 a.m. to noon. Sophomores with last names ending A-L have orientation from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. while those M-Z meet from 2:45 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. Ceres High will host Freshmen Dog Day from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on July 29 to pick up schedules and books, meet ambassadors, and participate in games, activities and team building exercises. Lunch and snacks will be provided to freshmen.

Central Valley High School is holding its annual "Taking Flight" student registration from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, August 2. Students are advised to come during their assigned time based on last names. Those with last names starting with A to Dh show up between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.; Di to Ll from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Lo to Rey from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.; and Ri to Z from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Students who do not receive a registration packet in the mail by July 28 may come to the office at Central Valley High School possible to pick up a packet.

Specific documents are required to participate in Taking Flight, during which students and parents will be able to turn in registration paperwork, clear fees, receive their schedules and check out books.

Any student new to the Ceres Unified School District is encouraged to register as soon as possible. Specific information is required to register for school. A call to the office staff at 556-1900 can provide parents and students with the information necessary to help a student register at Central Valley High School.
