Hughson High School won the Academic Decathlon team competition at Saturday's 37th annual event held at Central Catholic High School.
Ceres High School's took third place.
Oakdale High School's team was second place.
Hughson High claimed the Super Quiz win, as well as Most Improved Team status.
Beyer High School was the School Club Winner.
Individual High Point winners in each division were:
• First Place Varsity Champion - Brandon Neal, Hughson High;
• First Place Scholastic Champion - Kristine Piedad, Hughson High;
• First Place Honors Champion - Taryn Lane, Oakdale High;
• Alternate Team Member Champion - Jun Zhu, Davis High.
Kristine Piedad of Hughson High won the Scholastic Gold medal in the Essay competition, while Hughson's Brandon Neal took Varsity Gold. Zachary Baker of Ceres High took Varsity Silver. Christian Vasquez took Varsity Bronze. Sky Phillips of Hughson High took Varsity 4th place.
In Speech competition, Sarah Hollcraft of Hughson took Honors Bronze. Connor Mills of Ceres took Scholastic Gold. Silvana Contreras of Hughson took Scholastic Silver. Nick Guzman of Hughson claimed Scholastic Bronze. Christian Vasquez of Ceres took Varsity Gold. Sky Phillips, Varsity Silver.
