Ceres Library offers fun in June

The Ceres Library, 2250 Magnolia, will offer free programs for children and families, including crafts, activities, and a family show.

Wee Move and Play will be held on Tuesdays at 11 a.m. This program features unstructured play time for toddlers and preschoolers, during which they can enjoy movement and sensory play.

Children can enjoy a number of crafts this month, beginning with a Rainbow Scratch Art program on Thursday, June 9 at 3:30 p.m. Participants will use scratch sticks and special paper to create unique works of art. Children may use the sticks to scratch through the surface of the paper, revealing rainbow colors underneath. On Thursday, June 16 at 3:30 p.m. crafters can build colorful pinwheels. Participants under the age of 6 may need parental assistance to complete this craft. Children who visit the library on Thursday, June 30 at 3:30 p.m. can paint with watercolors.

Randel McGee and his puppet, Groark, will visit the library on June 11 at 1 p.m. Families are invited to enjoy the comedic antics of Groark the dragon during the show.

The library will offer a LEGO day for children on Thursday, June 23 at 3:30 p.m. Finished LEGO creations will be displayed in the library. Children under the age of 4 must have direct parental supervision.
