Chamber seeks board directors

Civic minded individuals are needed to fill upcoming vacancies on the Ceres Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.

The nominating process is now underway with a Nominating Committee to meet next month to determine any re-appointments to the board and new nominations.

Nominees must be in good standing as Ceres Chamber members, having paid their dues and actively participated in Chamber activities or committees.

Board directors are asked to serve a two-year term, attend two board meetings per month, attend various events throughout the year and serve on a variety of committees and community projects. Those elected to serve will attend a Chamber retreat and orientation in November and take office Feb. 1, immediately following the Chamber's annual installation and awards dinner.

The Chamber is dedicated to advancing the interests of the business community through advocacy, leadership and representation, and is committed to enhancing economic development, assisting with business retention and strengthening the overall economy of Ceres.

"We have been very fortunate as a Chamber to have board members who are actively engaged and passionate about enhancing the quality of life for Ceres residents and businesses," said Ceres Chamber President Renee Ledbetter. "We are hoping to find replacements for those members terming out who are as equally passionate and committed to moving our community in a positive direction."

Anyone interested in applying may request an application by calling the Chamber office at 537-2601 or emailing cereschamberboard@gmail.com. The application may also be found on the front page of the Chamber's website www.CeresChamber.com.
