Richard Metcalf, 56, of Ceres, was arrested on Wednesday morning, March 20 after he was found inside of a car parked in the 2100 block of Shushan Drive.

At 7:44 a.m. Officer Nathan McGough saw Metcalf asleep in the driver seat of a BMW 350i, and stopped to see if he was alright. Metcalf said he was just sleeping. The officer then noticed the interior of the car cluttered with various tools and clothing. Because Metcalf was on probation for theft and drugs, a search was conducted which revealed a glass methamphetamine pipe and a baggy containing methamphetamine in the center console. 

Metcalf was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia.
