The Soroptimist International of Ceres hosted its "Fabulous Fall Auction" over the weekend at the Ceres American Legion Memorial Building to raise thousands of dollars for community service projects.

At $25 per person the event featured hors d'oeuvres catered by Habitat for Humanity, a program for live and silent auctions and bid card. The event drew over 120 in attendance with items including cabin retreats, gourmet dinners and Giants tickets auctioned off by auctioneer Eric Bianchi. The service club sold drinks and auctioned off donated goods from local merchants.

"There were so many local vendors who donated goods and services to this year's event," said Lisa Mantarro Moore of the club.

A beautiful handmade quilt made by Jan Wix was also donated which the club hosted a specialty drawing raising over $500.

The club only hosts this event every other year as to respect the amount of work it takes and the generosity of the public.
