Ceres High School students who will be performing in next month’s “Shrek the Musical” will be served tables during a breakfast fundraiser set for tomorrow morning, Saturday, April 13 at Pastas Pronto, 2930 Fourth Street.

The event will take place 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. with pancakes, eggs, bacon and potatoes being served. Cost is $10 per person.

The Ceres High School drama department is presenting the play “Shrek the Musical,” at 7 p.m. nightly on May 2, 3 and 4 at the high school auditorium. A special matinee will be offered on Saturday, May 4 at 2 p.m.

Shrek is being played by Jaime Chavez who won a silver medal for singing at the Lenaea Festival this year. Peyton Jones and Alexis Torres, who play Fiona and Queen Lillian and the Wicked Witch respectively, won a gold medal for their duo acting duo.

The play will feature a cast of 35.

“Steven Dias runs an excellent program and his students have earned medals for at least the last four years,” said parent Lynne Jones who is publicizing both events.
