Free local bus rides offered throughout entire month of July
StanRTA

The Stanislaus Regional Transit Authority (StanRTA) will offer free rides on all fixed-route, commuter, and ADA Paratransit buses during July as part of a joint free-ride promotion.

The free rides apply to local fixed-route services as well as ACE, BART and Stockton Commuter bus services, ADA Paratransit, and Medivan. All public transit buses in Stanislaus County are accessible to individuals with disabilities as required by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Funding for the free-ride promotion is covered by a grant from the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) under the Low Carbon Transit Operations Program (LCTOP), as well as federal transit funding.

“With the Free Fares July promotion, we’re proud to offer safe and reliable rides at no cost so residents can reach school, work, grocery stores, healthcare, shopping, and more without financial stress,” said Adam Barth, CEO of StanRTA. “Free Fares July makes public transit more accessible, and is the perfect chance for new riders to give ‘The S’ a try and discover how easy, convenient, and sustainable public transit can be. We encourage everyone to take this opportunity to utilize the system to get around Stanislaus County.”

Ready to ride? Riders are encouraged to plan ahead and take full advantage of this fare-free month. Trip planning is a breeze with tools available at www.stanrta.org and www.turlocktransit.com; or use smartphone apps like the Transit app, Google Maps, or StanRTA’s Track The S app for route, stop, schedule and real-time bus arrival information (available for free through the Apple App Store and Google Play).
