Libraries offer fun in June

Children, teens and adults can take part in free programs at the Ceres Library this June, beginning with the Design Your Own Puzzle program on Thursday, June 1 at 3:30 p.m. Children of all ages can design and color their own puzzles. Blank puzzles will be provided.

Wee Move and Play on Tuesdays at 11 a.m. and Wednesdays, June 7 and 21 at 11:30 a.m. This program features unstructured playtime for toddlers and preschoolers, during which they can enjoy movement and sensory play.

On Thursday, June 8 at 3:30 p.m. the library will offer a robot mask craft. Children and teens may design and color their own unique robot masks.

Children and their families can enjoy an interactive show presented by the Traveling Lantern Theatre Company on Wednesday, June 14 at 12 p.m. This show, entitled "The Ribbles Build a Residence," will focus on the building of a new, environmentally friendly dream home for the Ribbles, with help from the bird architect
Thia Tweet and Brooklyn contractor Gerry the Ant. The audience will also have an opportunity to help the Ribbles by playing interactive games and discovering basic building techniques. This program is best for ages 5 and up, but all ages are welcome.

The library will host a LEGO Day on Thursday, June 15 at 3:30 p.m. Children will have the opportunity to build LEGO creations that will then be displayed in the library. Children 4 and under are welcome to participate, however, they must have direct parental supervision.

Children are invited to make ice cream in a bag on Thursday, June 22 at 3:30 p.m. Each participant can make a serving of vanilla flavored ice cream, while supplies last. This activity will take place outside on the lawn in front of the library.

The Ceres Library Book Club will meet on Wednesday, June 28 at 11:30 a.m. This month, the book club will discuss "Don't Let's Go to the Dogs Tonight" by Alexandra Fuller.

Children and teens may celebrate Shark Week at the Ceres Library at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 29. Crafters
may make shark cootie catchers and craft their own take-home aquariums.

Keyes Library happenings
The Keyes Library is starting out June with a full day of coloring fun. Kids are welcome to come and color at the library on June 8.

Adults can create a beautiful beach inspired candleholder with seashells and clothespins all day at the library on June 9.
