Residents in the unincorporated community of Monterey Park Tract took advantage of a county sponsored Community Clean-Up on Saturday.

Monterey Park Tract is a small impoverished rural community southwest of Ceres. The same community was visited by Gavin Newsom the week he became governor.

A total of seven bins were filled with unwanted items and other debris that marred the small rural enclave.

District 5 Supervisor Channce Condit of Newman took part in offloading debris from vehicles into the bins from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“This was a true team effort, and I want to give a heartfelt thank you to the Monterey Park Tract Community Services District, local volunteers, and all those who gave their time and energy to the cause of beautifying our neighborhoods,” said Condit. “These clean-up efforts are a powerful example of what we can accomplish when we come together as a community.”

Since becoming a county supervisor, Condit has staged 26 clean-up free events to combat illegal dumping and neighborhood blight.
