Vacancy coming up on Ceres Planning Commission

The Ceres City Council is searching for Ceres residents interested in applying for the upcoming vacancy on the Ceres Planning Commission.

The term of Couper Condit – who was appointed in 2015 to fill a vacancy and who was reappointed in December 2015 – is set to expire at the end of the month.

The Planning Commission is a permanent advisory committee of citizens appointed by the Mayor subject to confirmation by the City Council. Meetings are held on the first and third Mondays of each month at 6 p.m. to consider land use matters such as zone changes, conditional use permits, variances, subdivisions and general plan amendments.

To be eligible for this position, one must be a resident within the city cimits of Ceres. This position would be for a four-year term ending Dec. 31, 2023.

Applications are available at Ceres City Hall, 2220 Magnolia Street or by visiting the city’s website at www.ci.ceres.ca.us.  Applications must be completed and returned to the Office of the City Clerk by 5 p.m., Friday, Dec. 13.
