A service was held Saturday at Lakewood Funeral Home for Alfred B. Pollard, 83, of Hughson. He died June 5, 2011 at his home with family by his side.
Born Jan. 28, 1928 in Sudan, Texas to a family of seven children, Al moved to Wasco at an early age. Al, also known as Sonny, served his country in the Army Air Corp / US Army for several years in the late 1940s. After an honorable discharge he worked for PG&E and worked 40 years before retiring. Mr. Pollard and wife Marie enjoyed traveling the world after while living in Twain Harte. Al has been a Hughson resident for the past two years.
He leaves behind his wife, Marie Pollard of Hughson; three children, Terry Pollard, Linda Boothe, and Judy Bunker; his brother, Harvel Pollard; two sisters, Lucille and Ercell; two stepchildren, Bill Armstrong and Sue York; and nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
