A funeral service was held Friday at the Colonial Chapel of Franklin & Downs for Althea Ethlyn Parrish Broadwell, 85, of Ceres. She died Saturday, Feb. 7, 2004 at Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock.
Burial was private burial.
Born July 23, 1918, Mrs. Broadwell was a native of San Jose and lived in Ceres for 84 years. She was a caseworker for the the Stanislaus County Department of Employment Development for 20 years. She was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Modesto, the Thursday Bridge Club (since 1949) and PEO Chapter B.H. She enjoyed painting, reading and gardening.
She leaves behind two children, Sheri Massner of Ceres and Gail Ceciliani of Modesto; and three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and one grandchild.
