Services were held May 19 at Lakewood Funeral Home Chapel for Andrew H. Chipponeri, 75, of Modesto. He died May 11, 2009 at his home in Modesto.

Burial was at Lakewood Memorial Park.

Born Jan. 27, 1934, Andy lived in Ceres and Modesto all of his life. He attended grammar school and high school in Ceres and was a professional truck driver for 40 years. Whether it be on the road, in his hometown, or at a car show, Andy had a lot of friends. He enjoyed talking to people about trucking, classic cars, sports, his grandchildren, or how to grow the best tomatoes.

He leaves behind his wife of 33 years, Linda Chipponeri of Modesto; four children, Andy Chipponeri Jr. and Joey Chipponeri, both of Ceres, Bill Brink of Sonora and Melissa Hradecky of Riverside; his stepson, Michael Lowman of Ceres; seven grandchildren, Christopher, Andrew, Bryson, Breanna, Alexandria, Eric, Conner; and one great-grandchild, Brody. He was preceded in death by grandsons Sean Chipponeri and Hayden Brink, three brothers, and two sisters.
