Barbara Young
A Celebration of Life and memorial service will be held in the spring for Barbara A. Young, 78, of Ceres. She died Dec. 18, 2008 after a brief illness.
Born Oct. 27, 1930 in Bakersfield to Leverett and Evelyn Fuller, Barbara grew up in As Bell where she graduated from high school in 1948. Two years later Barbara married Leo C. Young. They bought a small ranch on Service Road in Ceres in 1985. Mrs. Young owned an accounting and real estate office, and enjoyed ranching and raising cattle. Barbara enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Barbara was an inspiration to many who witnessed the love and care that she gave her family, especially Rocky, her Down's Syndrome son.
She leaves behind her sons, Rocky Young and dentist Bruce Young of Ceres; her brother, Stan Fuller of Downey; her sister, Leota Mayhall of Ventura; her grandchildren, Christi Allan, Carli Young and Colton Young; and two great-grandchildren, Easton Allan and Addison Allan. She was preceded in death by her husband Leo C. Young in 1995.
