A memorial service was held Saturday at Anchor Baptist Church in Modesto for Birdie Marie Chapman Loughmiller, 84, of Ceres. She died this month at her home.
Burial was at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella under the direction of Allen Mortuary.
Born January 1924, Mrs. Loughmiller was a native of Burkburnett, Texas, born to Nora and Francis Chapman. She was a life member of the VFW Post #3199. She became accepted Jesus as her personal Lord and Savior on August 31, 2007.
She leaves behind her daughter Judy Holms of Arkansas; three sisters, Frances, Cora, and Dorothy; her brother, Hap Patrick; and five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and numerous great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons and two brothers.
