A funeral service was held Tuesday at Lakewood Funeral Home for Bobbie Jean Yori, 79, of Ceres. She died peacefully on Feb. 15, 2009 at Vintage Faire Rehabilitation Hospital in Modesto.

Burial was at Lakewood Memorial Park.

Born July 1, 1929, Bobbie was a native of Gotebo, Okla. She and her sister Myrna, who has also passed, moved to Modesto, CA with their mother and stepfather in the 1940s. Bobbie graduated from Modesto High School and furthered her education at Modesto Junior College where she graduated with an associate degree in nursing. Afterwards, she gained employment with the State Hospital in Stockton. She retired from there after 35 years of service as head nurse. Bobbie also co-owned and operated in the 1960s and 1970s with her sister Myrna, a well-known children's clothing store located in McHenry Village called Lad & Lassie. She loved her family and friends unconditionally and was extremely close with her sister Myrna. Mrs. Yori loved to dance, play cards and go casinos.

Bobbie is preceded by her husband Edwin Yori , a successful farmer of 30-plus years from Ceres and her daughter Cheri Wilson.

She is survived by three grandchildren, Brandy Tidmarsh, Brandon Wilson and Zackary Duke; and great-grandchildren, Kayla and Tyler Wheeler, and Darren Kaden and Kevin Tidmarsh and Janiene, Jon and Robin Yori.
