A Mass was held Friday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Hughson for Carol Florence Vieira Voss, 72, of Ceres. She died Friday, Feb. 27, 2004 at Doctors Medical Center.

Burial was at Lakewood Memorial Park under the direction of Allen Mortuary.

Born Dec. 1, 1931, Mrs. Voss was a native of Turlock and lived in Ceres for 29 years. She previously lived in San Jose. Mrs. Voss was a homemaker. She graduated from Turlock High School in 1950, and from the University of California at Davis in 1954, where she earned a bachelor's degree in home economics. Mrs. Voss was a 4-H leader and a parent volunteer at St. Victor's School in San Jose and St. Stanislaus School in Modesto. She was a past president of Native Daughters of the Golden West, Morada Parlor 199. She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Hughson. Mrs. Voss enjoyed sewing.

She leaves behind five children, George Voss of San Jose, and Annmarie Hendryx, Katherine Weststeyn, Carolyn Damas and Charles Voss, all of Hughson; and 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry J. Voss; and her son John Henry Voss.
