Cleffie Patterson

A service was held at First Missionary Baptist Church in Ceres on Jan. 7 for Cleffie Mae Hall Patterson, 91, of Ceres. She died Dec. 29, 2009.

Burial was at Ceres Memorial Park.

Born July 18, 1918 near Ash Flat, Ark., Cleffie grew up with her siblings around Jonesboro. She came to California in 1943 with her husband. Cleffie worked in the fields and canneries and raised two daughters. She was a charter member of the First Missionary Baptist Church in Ceres. Mrs. Patterson's life was characterized by her love for God, her hospitality, good cooking and sense of humor.

She leaves behind her daughter, Joann Hunter of Ceres; her brothers, Odis Hall of Nipomo, and O.E. Hall of Sonora; her sister, Dorothy Faye McCollum of Cabot, Ark.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers, two sisters and a daughter.
