A private memorial is being arranged for Curtis Fink, 75, of Hughson. A resident of Hughson for over 50 years and the city's first mayor, Mr. Fink died July 28, 2011.

Born April 12, 1936 in Kilgore, Texas, Curtis graduated from Modesto High School in 1954. He served in the Navy, where he was chosen to serve in the color guard and studied communications. He married his wife, Mildred, in 1959 and started his own building materials business in Hughson. In 1972, Curtis served as Hughson's first mayor. After serving as mayor for three years, he served on the Hughson City Council. Mr. Fink was a member and president of the Hughson Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Lions Club, and served as chairman of the Hughson Community Services District. Curtis was an avid reader and a ham radio operator for many years.

He leaves behind his children, brothers and sisters and grandchildren.
