Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Lakewood Funeral Home for David Venton Pittman, 65, of Ceres. He died April 30, 2009 at his home.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Ceres Christian Church, 3502 Roeding Rd., Ceres. Following a family gathering, burial will take place at 3 p.m. at Lakewood Memorial Park.

Born July 27,1943, David was active around the community, having served as an elder at Ceres Christian Church. Mr. Pittman was employed 36 years by Modesto Irrigation District as a lineman and supervisor. He and his wife celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Feb. 4.

He leaves behind his wife, Eileen Pittman of Ceres; his son, Timothy David Pittman of Ceres; two sisters, Bernice Cox of Rosamond, and Dolores Stackhouse of Modesto; four grandchildren, Joseph Musso and Robin Dubbs, both of Modesto, and Troy Pittman and Todd Pittman, both of Ceres; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by daughter Dyan Michelle Musso.
