A funeral Mass was held for Devita Tenorio Palacpac, 60, of Hughson. She died April 29, 2011 at Memorial Medical Center after a brief illness.

Burial was at Lakewood Memorial Park.

Born Jan. 27, 1951 in Taleb Bantay Ilococs Sur Philippines, Devita moved to America in 1971 with her parents and siblings. They moved to Hughson. She married Alfredo Lopez Palacpac in 1974. She worked at Tri-Valley Cannery in Modesto and at Foster Farms over 30 years, earning numerous awards for her exceptional performance and safety. Devita became a mother in 1977 with the birth of Freddie Tenorio Palacpac, followed by a second son, Rodel Tenorio Palacpac in 1982. Mrs. Palacpac was devoted her the Roman Catholic faith and regularly attended mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Devita was a member of numerous Filipino organizations, including Bantay Ilocos Sur Association of USA.

She leaves behind her husband, Alfredo Lopez Palacpac of Hughson; her sons, Freddie Tenorio Palacpac and Rodel Tenorio Palacpac; her siblings, Francisco, Agapito, Victorino, Patricia, Eleuterio; and a granddaughter, Mercedez Jerrun Palacpac. She was preceded in death by parents, Macario Paet Tenorio and Maria Purisima Rapisura, and brother Ponciano Tenorio.
