Eddie Wyatt, 74, of Modesto, passed away on Feb. 4, 2016 at the home of his daughter in Tigard, Ore.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 19 at the Ceres Chapel of Franklin & Downs, 2561 Fifth Street in Ceres.

Burial will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park under the direction of Franklin & Downs Ceres Chapel.

He was born in Cushing, Okla., on July 11, 1941 to Charles and Ruth Wyatt. He grew up in Oklahoma and Missouri prior to Orange County when he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was stationed on the USS Ozbourne. He worked as a bartender for Disneyland Hotel and also worked as a contractor. He then moved to Modesto where he met the love of his life, Betty Wyatt. He worked as an owner/operator truck driver until his passing.

Eddie had a passion for family and friends.

He is survived by his children, Sherri L. Soule of Cottonwood, Ariz., Leah Grippin of Tigard, Ore., and Sean Soule of Mesa, Ariz.; three stepchildren, Tracy Phillips of Ceres, and Roger Custer and Russell Custer, both of Modesto; his grandchildren, Cody Moore of Hayden , Idaho, Karissa Moore of Portland, Ore., Brandy Martin of Peoria, Ariz., Megan Custer, Taylor Custer, Ethan Custer, Evan Custer, Amanda Custer, all of Modesto, Jennifer Krigbaum of Spring, Texas, Mark Bustamonte of Modesto, and Trevor Soule and Taylor Soule, both of Mesa, Ariz.; his nephew, Charlie Wyatt of Camp Verde, Ariz.; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 31 years, Betty Fern Wyatt, mother Ruth, brother Charles Wyatt, and dog "Gater."
