Services were held on Monday at the Ceres Chapel of Franklin & Downs for Edith E. Silva, 91, of Ceres. She died Sept. 21, 2009.
Born Nov. 7, 1917 in Laramie, Wyo., Edith came to Modesto as a small child. She was married to Alfred Silva from 1945 until his death. They owned and operated a dairy farm until their retirement. Edith was a faithful church attender and was a member of the Ceres Senior Citizens Club who enjoyed many bus tours for them.
She leaves behind her children, Walle (M.E.) Wallulis of Ceres, Henry Long of Catheral City, Shirley Fox of Redding, Linda Sanders of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., Darrell Gregory of Cameron Park, April Ball of Placerville, and Mary Finnegan of Ceres; and eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
