A celebration of life will be held at Samaritan Village in Hughson at 3 p.m. on Friday, July 16 for Edna Mary Daigh, 84, of Hughson, She died on July 3, 2010 at Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock.

Allen Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.

Born in July 1925 in Scarsdale, N.Y. to Thomas and Elsie Dennis, Edna was raised in Tarrytown, N.Y.. In 1950, she moved to Tucson, Ariz., where she worked for Harold Ashton Construction. She moved to the San Jose area in 1973, and worked for Lockeheed Martin for 15 years as a project administrator. She had met Lawrence Daigh and in 1978 they married. In 1995 they moved to Chino Valley, Ariz., and settled in Hughson in 2009. Edna was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in San Jose. When she lived in Chino Valley, she volunteered for the Yavapi Medical Center in Prescott, and the Prescott Art Docents. She was an avid fan of baseball. When she lived in New York, she watched the New York Giants. She also attended spring training in Scottsdale. Edna coached T-Ball and Little League. Mrs. Daigh was an avid bowler.

She leaves behind her husband Larry Daigh of Hughson; four children Susan K. Hellston of Sunsites, Ariz., Robin M. Patterson of Groveland, and Richard W. Patterson and Sally L. Patterson, both of San Jose; four step-children, Eric B. Daigh and Steven L. Daigh, both of Hailey, Idaho, Kurt E. Daigh of Twin Falls, Idaho, and Kristen C. Lemen of Groveland; and two grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
