A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 5 at the Ceres Chapel of Franklin & Downs, 2561 Fifth St., for Betty "Elizabeth" Raney Runyan, 79, of Ceres. She died Oct. 26, 2011 after a lengthy illness

Burial will be at Lakewood Memorial Park.

Born July 25, 1932 in Washington, Ind., Betty worked for many years at Banquet Foods in Turlock. She enjoyed camping and fishing with her family as well as her siblings.

She leaves behind her husband, James Runyan of Ceres; two children, Westley "Bud" Runyan of Ceres and Beth Ann Perry of Modesto; her sisters, Rosemary Dicob of Glendale, Ariz., Virginia Newcomb of Glendale, Ariz., Faye Orsbun of Banning and Lois McBride of Black Canyon City, Ariz.; her brother, Robert Raney of Glendale, Ariz.; four grandchildren, Jennifer Mills and Breanna Perry, both of Modesto, John Runyan of Los Angeles and Megan Runyan of New York City; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by parents Leo F. and Ethel H. Raney, daughter Rae Marie Carpenella, son Michael Runyan, sister Anne Love, and brothers William F. Raney and Leo Raney Jr.
