Elvera Theodore

A cryptside service was held at Turlock Memorial Park on Friday for Elvera Theodore, 89, of Turlock. She died on Jan. 18 at the Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson.

Born December 1919 in Hughson to John and Amelia Bettencourt, Elvera was raised on a family farm on Walnut Road and attended Hughson High School. In 1944, Elvera married the love of her life Filbert Theodore. Elvera spent the last year at Bel-Air Convalescent Hospital in Turlock. She worked 25 years for the Stanislaus County Assessor's Office. Mrs. Theodore enjoyed gardening, travelling, and attending plays.

She leaves behind her siblings, Mary Machado, Emily Mello and John Bettencourt. She was preceded in death by husband Fil and brother Manuel Bettencourt.
