The rosary, vigil and Mass were held Thursday at St. Jude's Catholic Church for Eulalio "Al" Gonzales, 76, of Ceres. He died Friday, June 10, 2005 at his home.

Burial was Friday at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella under the direction of Evins Funeral Home.

Born Dec. 19, 1928, Mr. Gonzales was a native of Yuma, Ariz., and lived in Ceres for six months. He worked for the city of Santa Clara for 10 years. Mr. Gonzales also owned Al Gonzales Concrete and A & R Trucking, both in Alviso, for 30 years. He was an Army veteran, serving from 1945-47. Mr. Gonzales enjoyed fishing and playing guitar.

He leaves behind his wife, Ruth Gonzales of Ceres; eight children, Eulalio Gonzales Jr., Joseph Gonzales, Ruben Gonzales, Richard Gonzales, Philip Gonzales, Ruby Gonzales, Geraldine Gonzales and Debra Gonzales, all of Santa Clara; four stepchildren, Christine Adams of Ceres, Ellen Flores of San Jose, Donna Castro of Alvin, Texas, and Pamela Clark of Ticksaw, La.; four brothers, Philip Gonzales of San Jose, Robert Gonzales of Lodi, and Fred Gonzales and Manuel Gonzales, both of Mexico; two sisters, Jennie Gonzales of San Jose and Dolores Gonzales of Hollister; and many grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Martha Gonzales; three brothers; and two sisters.
