Eupha N. Walls

Services were held on Saturday at the Colonial Chapel of Franklin and Downs for Eupha Nell Walls, 83, of Modesto. She died Aug. 1, 2007 at Memorial Medical Center on following a brief illness.

Born Dec. 28, 1923, Mrs. Walls was a native of Telephone, Texas to James Brinkly and Mary Catherine Moore. She married the love of her life Alton Walls on May 19, 1942. They were married 59 years when he died on Dec. 29, 2001.

Mrs. Walls was a long time and faithful member of Calvary Temple. She attended the senior ladies Bible Study at First Baptist of Modesto for many years. She made a loving home where everyone felt welcome. In her later years, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were a source of great joy to her. Her famous oatmeal cookies and fried chicken graced the table of many family gatherings.

In recent years, Nell became adventurous and learned to enjoy many family outings at the lake which included a wild ride in the ski boat driven by her grandson, Jim. She also enjoyed sailboating.

She leaves behind three children, Nell Bullock of Modesto, James Walls of Riverbank, and Sue Walls of Ceres; her sister, Goldie Moore of Modesto; four grandchildren, Jim Bullock of Ceres, Jennifer Lee of Stockton, Laurie Allred of Ceres, and Chelsi Walls of Riverbank; and three great-grandchildren, Kash Bullock, Kennedy Bullock, and Reghan Allred. She was preceded in death by her husband Alton Walls, daughter Cathie Walls, and seven brothers.
