Visitation will be held at 3 p.m. and Rosary starting at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the Colonial Chapel of Franklin & Downs, 12th and J streets, Modesto, for Evelyn Mary Ravelli Dias, 90, of Modesto. She died Dec. 5, 2008.

A funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 1813 Oakdale Road, Modesto, at 11 a.m. on Friday. A graveside service will be held immediately at St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery on Scenic Drive.

Born Feb. 26, 1918 in Modesto to Maurice Mateo Ravelli and Celesta Maria Bravo Ravelli, Evelyn was the youngest daughter of five children all of whom have preceded her in death. She graduated from Modesto High School in 1936 and met the love of her life, Manuel Peixoto Joseph Dias, Jr.; they married on June 14, 1941 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. In the 1950s Manuel and Evelyn started their photography business. For 25 years Evelyn was a photographer, mainly of portraits, and was involved in the processing photographs. She also assisted her husband in his work as a commercial, travel and journalist photographer. Evelyn was involved in many community organizations and sports teams. She was an avid golfer with Muni-Niners and bowler with the Monday Swingers at McHenry Bowl. She was a member of the Eagles Women's Auxiliary, Native Daughters, Ceres Seniors Club and St. Joseph's Seniors Group.

She leaves behind two daughters, Corrine Cupp of Greeley Hill and Rosalie Hill of Modesto; three grandchildren, John Cupp of Provo, Utah, and Ryan Hill and Celeste Ayers, both of Modesto; and three great-grandchildren. Evelyn was preceded in death by husband Manuel in 2005.

The family requests that all remembrances be made to a favorite charity.
