Floyd Thomas Sneed

August, 1938 –  October, 2018

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our father, Floyd Sneed at Brandel Manor, with his son Mike and daughter-in-law Debi at his side.

Floyd was born in Ceres to Ben and Agnes Sneed, where he attended schools and enjoyed athletic pursuits, including football, track, basketball and baseball. In 2009 Floyd and his brother Bud were both awarded Ceres High School Hall of Fame status.

Floyd started his banking career in 1949 with Crocker Angelo Bank. He finished his banking career with Bank of California in Ceres and Turlock, and retired as Vice President of the Modesto branch in 1991.

He enjoyed boating water skiing, camping, and golf and was master at woodworking. Floyd was a past member of Turlock Golf & Country Club, Ceres Lions Club, Turlock and Modesto Rotary. He was on the Ceres Cemetery Board for 30 years.

Floyd is survived by his children, Mike Sneed (Debi) of Ceres, and Michelle Melder of Grapevine Texas; his grandchildren, Josh Sneed (Jana) of Hughson, Ty Sneed (Esther) of Hughson, Laura Elleby (Ryan) of Georgia, Todd Niebauer (Jimena) of San Diego, Teal Moody (Steven) of Georgia, Dane Melder of San Diego, Erica Colo (Will Alexander) of Bakersfield; and his great-grandchildren, Kylie Sneed, Aubrie Sneed, Carter Sneed, Allison Sneed, Natalie Riggs, Jordan Riggs, Nixon Elleby, Reese Elleby, Jazmine Niebauer, Emersyn Alexander and Amelia Alexander.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Helen Sneed in 2017, parents Ben and Agnes Sneed, brother Lewis “Bud” Sneed and son-in-law Tom Niebauer.

Floyd was laid to rest at Ceres Memorial Park during a private graveside service.

You are going to be missed Dad. Here’s to you, one final final!
