A graveside service was held Friday at Lakewood Memorial Park for G. Wayne Coburn Sr., 82, of Empire. The former Hughson resident died Monday, Nov. 8, 2004 at his home.
Lakewood Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Born Nov. 23, 1921, Mr. Coburn was a native of Ulman, Mo., and lived in Empire a few years after living in Hughson most of his life. He worked as a teamster in highway and road construction, owned and operated water trucks and had worked for the California Conservation Corps. Mr. Coburn was a Navy veteran of World War II. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He leaves behind his wife, Tressa Coburn of Empire; three children, Gerald Wayne Coburn Jr. of Denair, Carolyn Wheatley of Elk Grove and Darlene Lepper of Hughson; his sister, Lillian Coburn of Sacramento; and eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
