A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Cross Point Community Church in Modesto for Georgia Lee Johnson, 70, of Ceres. She died March 3, 2011 after a battle with cancer.

Born May 22, 1941 in Sioux Falls, S.D., and raised there, Georgia moved to California in the mid 1950s where she met and married the love of her life, Marty, in 1962. They had two sons then moved to the Ceres area in 1975. Georgia worked in the mortgage industry and owned a bookstore. Mrs. Johnson was employed by the Stanislaus County Library for the last 10 years. She was a member/volunteer of Cross Point Community Church. Georgia enjoyed traveling by RV with her husband, was an avid reader, crossword puzzle extrodinare, and was happiest when spending time with her family.

She leaves behind husband Marty Johnson of Ceres; two sons, Gregg and Jeff; her mother and step-father, Grace and Victor Berdino; her brother, Ted Obuzz; her step-brother. John Berdino; and five grandchildren.
