A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Lakewood Funeral Home's Riverside Chapel for Gregory E. Ingwerson, 60, of Ceres. He died March 3, 2012.

A Celebration of Life will take place immediately following the service at the Ceres Community Center, 2701 Fourth Street, Ceres.

Greg was born Oct. 22, 1951 in Ceres and spent his life here. At age two he became a polio survivor and was the local March of Dimes poster child. He attended Ceres schools and graduated from Ceres High School in 1969. He was an avid reunion committee member.

Greg played the trumpet and enjoyed all kinds of music. He was a league bowler for many years at Yosemite Lanes. He participated in the Ceres Relay for Life and enjoyed membership in the La Grange Odd Fellows Lodge.

For 25 years Mr. Ingwerson worked in finance within the automotive industry. He was also a loyal San Francisco Giants fan.

Suvivors include his children, Nathan Ingwerson, Seth Ingwerson and Amanda Ingwerson; his brother, Eric Ingwerson of Ceres; his sisters, Amron Schumacher, Sherri Ingwerson Thornburg, and Malrie Fry; and two grandchildren, Siemon and Addisyn Ingwerson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gus and Janice Ingwerson and former wife Karen Taylor Ingwerson.

Remembrances may be sent to the Shriners Hospital for Children, Ceres Relay for Life or to the March of Dimes.
