A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Salas Brothers Chapel, 419 Scenic Drive, Modesto, for Harold Eugene Wagenman, 81, of Hughson. He died June 3, 2012 at the Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson.

Born July 10, 1930 in Wenatchee, Wash., Harold was raised in Waterford and graduated from Oakdale High School. Harold served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He met his wife of 57 years, Evelyn Jean Hoffer, in Hutchinson, Kan. They returned to California where he went to work for the Modesto Empire & Traction company and retired after 40 years. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and camping with friends and family.

He leaves behind his wife, Evelyn J. Wagenman of Hughson; his three children, Karen S. Ayala, Brian Gregory Wagenman, and Karla Haney; four sisters, Gladys Robirds, Laveta Rhoy, Betty Caldwell and Dolores Cox of Ceres; six grandchildren, Wesley Ayala, Tyler Ayala, Andrew Wagenman, Brianne Wagenman, Shae Haney and Brooke Haney; and two great-grandchildren, Jaden Ayla and Avelin Ayala. He was preceded in death by parents Oliver and Louise Wagenman and brother Kenneth Wagenman.
