A funeral was held Saturday at the Pentecostal Church in Hughson for Henry Morris, 67, of Denair. He died Saturday, Oct. 30, 2004 of injuries suffered in an auto accident at Keyes and Griffin roads.

Burial was at Denair Cemetery under the direction of Allen Mortuary.

Born Aug. 27, 1937, Mr. Morris was a native of Kentucky and had lived in Denair for 48 years. He worked in street maintenance for the city of Turlock. Mr. Morris also played in the Gospel Blue Grass Messengers gospel band for 20 years, and was involved in prison ministries. Mr. Morris was a member of Pentecostal Church of God in Modesto, and enjoyed fishing and gardening.

He leaves behind four children, Sherry Morris of Denair, Deborah Allison and Susan Chatelain, both of Turlock, and Pamela Hunt of Ceres; his brother, Taylor Morris of Austin, Ind.; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margrete Morris.
