A memorial service was held on Saturday at Allen Mortuary for Hugh Harryman, 82, of Ceres. He died at his home after a battle with cancer.
Born Nov. 1928 in Oklahoma to Ernest and Alta Harryman, Hugh grew up in Oklahoma and Arkansas. He married at age 21 and moved to California in 1949. Mr. Harryman worked as a turkey hauler for Valchris Turkeys for 29 years. Mr. Harryman loved his family and enjoyed coon hunting and chicken fighting. He loved to tell stories to his grandchildren about those hobbies.
He leaves behind his four children, Brenda Worden of Turlock, Debbie Lofton of Missouri, Alta Huddleston of Ceres, Dan Harryman of Denair; his sister, Erma Downs of Missouri; and nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren,
