Janet Beaty, 67, of Ceres, passed away at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto on January 5, 2013. Janet was born on July 18, 1945 in Modesto to Robert and Lucille Cochran. After graduating from Oakdale High School, she worked for a local cannery and Dunlaps. In 1967 she was married to Vergie Beaty and they bought their home in Ceres in which she lived until her passing. In 1972 Verg and Janet started A&B Truck Repair in Modesto. She was a homemaker, loving wife, devoted mother and grandmother. Janet was a long time 49ers and NASCAR fan. She enjoyed supporting her children and grandchildren in all of their sporting activities. Not only will she be remembered for her great love and devotion to her family but also her quick wit and the "the look."

Janet was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Michael Cochran, Barbara Turpin and Helen Farnstrom.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Vergie Beaty of Ceres; their four children, Paul Beaty, Sandra (Mike) Genseal, Robbi (Jerry) Burgess and April (Brady) Walker; 10 grandchildren, Jodi, Ashlee, Nicole, Wesley, Bradley, James, Makayla, Brock, Vikki and Brooklyn; one great-grandchild Adam; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She will be greatly missed by her friends and family.

Services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 12, at 2 p.m. at the McHenry Chapel of Franklin & Downs, 1050 McHenry Ave., Modesto, with burial to follow at Ceres Memorial Park. A celebration of life will follow services at the Masonic Hall, 800 Rose Avenue, Modesto.
