A funeral service was held Tuesday, July 10, at Church of the East, Mar Addai Parish, in Turlock for Jean Yohanan Helbig, 77. She died July 6, 2012 after a short illness.
Interment was at Turlock Memorial Park.
Born Sept. 13, 1934 to Simon and Helen Yohanan in New Britain, Conn., Jean moved with her family to Denair in 1948. After graduating from Hughson High School she moved to San Francisco where she spent 32 years working for the State Compensation Insurance Fund. In San Francisco she met and married her beloved Eugene.
She leaves behind a sister, Julia Roberts; her brother, Robert Oda Yohanan; and her brother, John Simon Yohanan. She was preceded in death by husband Eugene Helbig, her parents, and brother Edward David Yohanan.
