Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday the Ceres Chapel of Franklin & Downs, Fifth and Magnolia streets in Ceres for Jennie W. Keener, 84, of Ceres. She died June 15, 2012.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Village Chapel Free-Will Baptist Church, 1825 Central Avenue in Ceres. A graveside service will follow at Ceres Memorial Park.

Born April 24, 1928 in Coyle, Okla., to Fred and Virginia Bezanson, Jennie was a strong Christian woman who made family her first priority. She enjoyed gardening, traveling the country, baking, and she was active in her church.

She leaves behind her children, Fred Meyer, Patrick Heide, Sharon Vilmur and Harold Meyer; two brothers; one sister; and 14 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by children Donnie Meyer and Michael Meyer, her parents, husband of 48 years Alva Keener, two brothers, two sisters and two great-grandchildren.

Remembrances may be sent to Village Chapel Free-Will Baptist Church.
