A graveside service is set for 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Acacia Cemetery, 801 Scenic Drive, Modesto, for Jimmie J. Lackey, 86, of Ceres. She died Oct. 2, 2009 at her home in her sleep after losing her fight with cancer.
An open house will be held after the service at 1204 Payne Avenue, Ceres.
Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Born Sept. 25, 1923 in Oklahoma, Jimmie moved to California in the 1930's. She lived in the Ceres-Modesto area since 1977. A devoted Christian mother, grandmother and aunt, she cared deeply for her family. She had a great love for people and animals.
She leaves behind her two children, Deborah Lackey of Ceres and Michael Lackey; and four grandchildren Michael Lackey, Holly Lackey, Tiffany Lackey and James Lackey, all of Modesto.
