A graveside service was held at the Ceres Memorial Park on Saturday Aug. 3 for John D. Crice, 81. A longtime resident of Ceres and Modesto, he died July 27, 2019.

Born April 22, 1938 in Weleetka, Oklahoma’s Okfuskee County, John moved to Modesto as a toddler and attended Modesto City schools and Modesto Junior College. He has 5 sisters and 1 brother. John became a member of the U.S. Air Force on June 29, 1955 and was in the 75th Air Transport Squadron as a flight radio operator. In 1975 he started his own business using his contractor’s license setting up mobile homes. He operated John Crice Mobile Set-ups for 33 years.

John was a member of the Turlock Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, children and dogs.

He leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Jodee Crice; five children, Jorita A. Crice, Samuel D. Craig, Evan D. Craig, Jeri Jo Craig, and Bobbi J. Craig Horn (Rick); and 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren whom he loved.
