Eaton Family Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements for Johnny Eugene McLelland, 68, Ceres. He died Sept. 4, 2011.
A memorial service was held Tuesday at First Southern Baptist Church of Ceres.
Burial was at San Joaquin National Cemetery in Santa Nella.
Born March 12, 1943 in Gili Bend, Ariz., to Mattie and Harvey McLelland, Johnny was a master mechanic and a retired truck driver. He was known for helping others and fixing or building just about anything. Mr. McLelland enjoyed family gatherings, playing with his grandchildren, reading, working in his garden or driving tractor.
He leaves behind his wife of 42 years, Reta Mc Lelland of Ceres; his children, Charles, Alicia (Alisa), Clayton, Mattie Maines, and Mona Moore, all of Ceres; his brother, Harvey Mc Lelland; and his grandchildren, Kylie Maines and Aiden Maines. He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather Mervin Reed, sisters Geraldine Arretche, Fay Kyle, Freda Mc Lelland, and brothers William Coy, James Clayton, Gerald Wayne, Freddie, and Terry.
