A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at Samaritan Village, 7700 Fox Road, Hughson, for Lorraine Agnes Bettencourt, 84, of Hughson. She died June 18, 2009 at the Vintage Fair Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, surrounded by family members.
Born Sept. 24, 1924 in Tulare, Lorraine settled in Ceres at a young age. After attending Ceres schools, Lorraine worked for Gallo Winery from 1950 to 1963. She enjoyed her family and gardening.
She leaves behind her children, Dolores Daniel of Hughson, Frances Cadwell and Bill Bettencourt, both of Ceres, and Pat Robinson of Modesto; her brother, Ed Thomas of Modesto; two sisters, Juanda Thomas of Modesto and Eva Jones of Turlock; and10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
