Visitation will take place between 1 p.m. and 1:45 p.m. today at Lakewood Memorial Park for Lucille L. Fairless, 92, of Cave City, Ore. The former South Modesto resident died Feb. 18, 2009 in Cave Junction, Ore.

A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. today.

Born July 7, 1916, Lucille was a native of Aberdeen, Texas, born to Frank and Ora Park. She grew up in Sayer, Okla., where she later met Dan Fairless whom she was married to for 50 years until his passing. They resided in the South Modesto area where she lived in the same home that Dan built for over 50 years. She was an active member of the Church of Christ on Whitmore Road. In 1998, she moved to Cave Junction, Ore., to be near one of her daughters and many of her grandchildren. A homemaker, Lucille enjoyed taking long walks and meeting and interacting with people.

She leaves behind two daughters, Ann Jenson of Cave Junction, Ore., and Karleen Lee of Paso Robles; two sisters, Willie Lord in Sayer, Okla., and Jessie of Fresno; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and brothers.
