A memorial service was held Saturday at the Samaritan Village Chapel in Hughson for Lucille Marian Whited MacDougall, 91, of Hughson. She died March 1, 2011 at Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock.

Allen Mortuary was in charge of burial at Skylawn Memorial Park in San Mateo.

Born November 1919 in Minneapolis, Minn., as the fourth of six children, Lucille lived in the Minneapolis area until she moved to California in 1948 with husband Berne and daughters, Shari and Ginger. In 1950 they moved to San Mateo where son Charlie was born. Lucy spent 57 years in the same house until her move to Samaritan Village in Hughson four years ago. Lucy enjoyed singing in church choirs, in duets, trios and small groups, and as a soloist at church and in community musical events. Mrs. MacDougall served the Lord at Oliver Presbyterian Church in Minneapolis, Peninsula Covenant Church in Redwood City and First Presbyterian Church in San Mateo. She enjoyed being a homemaker, traveling, going on cruises with her husband, and spending time with friends and joining church women's groups.

She leaves behind three children, Shari Mills of Ben Lomond, Ginger Nelson of Turlock and Charlie MacDougall of Montara; seven grandchildren, Matt Mills and Molly Caballero, Joshua and Justin Nelson, Michael MacDougall, Brian and Kevin Garibaldi; and nine great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by husband Berne in 1991, parents Oric and Louise Whited, sisters Helen Wahlquist, Jean Nelson, Clare Hendrickson, Charlotte "Tootie" Bathurst and brother Donald Whited.
