A funeral Mass was held Thursday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Hughson for Maria Guadalupe Mejia, 80, of Hughson. She died on July 21, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family.
Burial was at Lakewood Memorial Park.
Born April 11, 1932 in Mexico, Maria was a Hughson resident for the past 47 years.
She leaves behind her husband of 61 years, Pascual Mejia of Hughson; her children, Ofelia Mejia of Hughson, Olga Valdivia of Waterford, Eleazar Mejia of Modesto, Lino Mejia of Sandy Valley Nev., and Olivia Perez of Las Vegas; her siblings, Juana Rios, Hortencia Rios and Margarita Rios, all of Mexico and Eusebia Rios and Rafael Rios, both of Las Vegas; and eight grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by parents Rafael Rios and Rita Landeros, siblings Tomas Rios, Panfilo Rios, Luis Rios, Eulalia Rios, Dolores Rios and Antonia Rios.
