A funeral service was held Tuesday at Allen Mortuary in Turlock for Marie Kollmeyer, 88, of Ceres. She died Nov. 3, 2011.
Burial was at St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery in Modesto.
Born July 19, 1923 in Concordia, Kan., to Paul and Lena Charest, Marie met her husband of 50 years, Bernard and they moved to California in 1947. She was a proud mother of 10 children. Mrs. Kollmeyer was a member of Young Ladies Institute (YLI) and St. Jude's Catholic Church in Ceres.
She leaves behind nine children, Joe Kollmeyer of Oakdale, Jean Boicelli of Turlock, Bruce Kollmeyer of Tracy, Kevin Kollmeyer of Turlock, Charlie Kollmeyer of Seattle, Wash., Mark Kollmeyer of Modesto, Lucia Cretti of Montrose, Colo., Mary Jennings of Visalia and Cathy Petersen of Niles; her sister, Ermine Breen of Delphas, Kan.; her brother, Melvin Cherest of Hereford, Texas; and 17 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband Bernard Kollmeyer, son Kenneth Kollmeyer and her parents.
